Romania 2016
International Conference of Young Scientists – ICYS was held in the town of Cluj-Napoca in Romania on 16-22 April. 270 students from 31 countries participated in the XXIII Conference. Students presented their project papers in 5 disciplines (sections). These disciplines are Math, Computer Science, Physics, Social Science and Environmental Science.
Georgian team was consisted from 12 students – Georgian-American High School (GAHS) 8 and Georgian-American School (GAS) students. They presented 6 project papers. The conference language is English. Based on this, students should be fluent in English. Georgian students took gold, silver and bronze medals in Math, which took Georgia\’s team on the first place in this section. Also, we took the silver medal in the Environmental discipline.
Mathematics Section: Gold Medal – Nikita Tripathi and Nikoloz Kalatozishvili (GAHS);
Mathematics Section: Silver Medal – Nia Baramadze and Ekaterine Akubardia; (GAS);
Mathematics Section: Bronze medal – Giorgi Bugechashvili and Natia Cheishvili; (GAHS);
Environmental Science: Silver Medal – Mariam Vardosanidze and Nino Kerdikoshvili. (GAHS)
The conference had a well-organized cultural program, the students viewed the sights of Transylvania, and it was unforgettable. They visited Salina Turda and Coronation Cathedral (Alba Iulia).
The next scientific conference will be held in Stuttgart, Germany, and there we will present team of 12 participants.
