The authorization process of private schools begins

In connection with the start of the private school authorization process, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited Georgian-American High School and got personally acquainted with the school environment and its infrastructure. Dimitri Shashkin was also interested in the learning process and met with teachers and twelfth graders.

All public and private schools are required to be authorized as only authorized general education institutions will have the right to carry out educational activities in the future.

Authorization is the procedure for obtaining the status of an educational institution, within the framework of which the compliance of the educational programs, material and human resources of the institution with the standards set by the state is verified.

The Georgian-American School was founded in 2003 and is the official representative of the American Union of Mathematicians Mu Alpha Theta in Georgia. Mathematics, Georgian and English languages ​​are taught in the school with an enhanced program. The school has cabinets-laboratories equipped with visual aids, a rich library, modern sports infrastructure, the school also has various subject, arts/crafts and sports clubs.

Students successfully participate in school Olympiads and competitions organized by the Ministry every year, 18 students became finalists of the 2009-2010 National Olympiad. 20 students moved to the 3rd round of the 2010-2011 National Olympiad. Nia Khachapuridze became the first place winner in biology and she represented the Georgian team with the first number at the International Biology Olympiad in Taiwan.

Georgian-American school graduates successfully pass the Unified National Examinations. Every graduate becomes a student and most of them become a state grant holder. In the 2010-2011 academic year, the school had 50 entrants, during the event the Minister met with them, talked about the CAT exams and also answered their questions.
