Cappadocia
The delegation from our school was on excursion in Turkey 20 – 31 July 2007. We were greatly impressed by the fascinating sightseeing of Cappadocia. We saw the places were St Nino and otherfamous Christian Fathers spent their youth. The Academy established by Father Basili is one of the mostremarkable among them. The marvelous “Multistory Cave Houses” of Cappadocia created by nature are really the wonder of the world. We continued our way from Cappadocia to Fethiye , which is situated nearAntalia and we spent the rest of our holiday in Oli Denizli, which is one of the best resorts on the cost of Mediterranean. We had the different kinds of excursions every day. The most unforgettable of them were a trip on horses around the Stone Town and a voyage around Fethiye. The document was signed in the department of education in Fethiye according to which our teachers would teach English in summer school there, so they would have an opportunity to have a rest together with our students. On the back way to Georgia we visited one of the world’s greatest miracles Pamukkale famous with terraces of carbonate minerals left by running water and the ancient Greek town – Hyeropolis. Of course we once more visited the church of Hagia Sofia and the Monastery of Sumela which we had seen before.
